Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Dances into Spring 2007

“Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Dances,” the annual spring concert of the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Department of Dance, will take place on Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14 at 8 p.m. in Garrison Theater.

An opportunity for students, faculty, and guest artists to debut original choreography and performance work, “Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Dances” is a highlight of the department’s spring event calendar. This year’s concert brings the work of eight students to the stage and includes the culmination of four senior projects. A variety of dance forms are represented including modern, contemporary ballet, and West African. Student choreographers include Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»seniors Sara Gaynor, Mary Grimes, Meredith Horiuchi, and Abigail Stopper, Brianna Skellie (Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»’08), Sydney Freggiaro (Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»’09), Meg Mason (HMC ’08), and Kathleen Paganelli (CMC ’07).

Faculty member Phylise Smith has choreographed a West African piece with live accompaniment, and guest choreographer Hassan Christopher has created a quartet that is highly athletic and physically challenging.
